In her lyrics, anaïs writes about all stages of growing up – mental health, toxic relationships, self-acceptance – and her place as a young woman in this world.

Due to her Belgian mother, the artist grew up trilingual and expresses herself in her music mostly in English, but sometimes also in French or German. Each language offers her a different platform to express what she thinks and feels.

Together with her Paris-based producers, anaïs has discovered her own sound, which is extremely versatile and unique at the same time. From alternative pop with minimalist, organic instrumentation to lo-fi tracks with smooth beats or 80s-inspired dance pop with groovy basslines, anaïs’ warm, playful voice holds it all together and shows that her music is hard to categorize.

With her first single My World So Blue in 2020, the then 19-year-old anaïs launched her career and moved from Hanover to Berlin in the same year to focus completely on her music. Further singles and the first live performances at festivals and as support followed in 2021.

2022 was anaïs’ year in the fast lane – she released her debut EP 44, played support shows for acts such as Giant Rooks, Nina Chuba, Provinz and Oscar Anton, was presented by the Reeperbahnfestival as part of the Wunderkinder program and played her first headline tour in Germany at the end of the year, with several sold-out shows. Amazon Music named anaïs Breakthrough Artist of the Month in July and Apple Music included her in its UP NEXT program. At the same time, she kept commuting from Berlin to Paris to write and record her EP.

However, 2023 is in no way inferior to the previous year. January started for anaïs with a showcase at the renowned Eurosonic Festival in the Netherlands and a nomination for the New Music Hotlist of German youth radio stations. This was followed by several singles such as Hold On and Isn’t It Something, which show her strong musical and creative development. Over the summer, anaïs performed at several festivals such as Watt En Schlick, Rocken am Brocken, Lollapalooza, Green Juice and MS Dockville and opened two summer open-air shows for the British band Bastille.

anaïs is now coming to Germany and Switzerland with new music on her Sad Disco Tour. The title should not be taken too literally, because the shows are anything but sad. Inspired by the French teen comedy La Boume – The Party from the 80s, you should be prepared for a roller-skating disco of emotions.

With her diverse repertoire of songs, her energetic live performance and her engaging charm, anaïs plays her way into the hearts of her audience without exception. Her shows create a brief moment where all the worries and problems of everyday life are pushed aside and only the music takes center stage.

From gentle piano ballads to energetic dance track with rap interlude – anaïs manages to stay authentic to herself and her sound, while constantly opening up new facets in her music and daring to give free rein to her emotions in all three languages.

So if you want to experience a night at the disco with all its highs and lows, you shouldn’t miss anaïs’ shows!
